1. Introduction

Care Line Trading CC, trading as Care Line Group (“we”, “us”, “our”), is an Authorised Financial Service Provider (FSP 24230). We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

2. Information We Collect

Personal information: Name, surname, email address, phone number, physical address, ID number, date of birth, medical aid details, employment information, and financial information relevant to the services you request.

Non-personal information: Browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URLs, and other analytics data collected through cookies and similar technologies.

3. Needs Discovery and Health Information

Our Get Started tool asks about your situation so we can show you which areas of cover may be worth a look. Some of those questions concern your health cover: whether you belong to a medical aid or have gap cover, how claiming has gone, and what has stopped you taking cover out. Under POPIA that is special personal information, so we handle it on a stricter footing than the rest.

Your answers stay in your own browser while you use the tool. They reach us only if you complete the enquiry form at the end and tick the consent box, which is your consent under section 27(1)(a) of POPIA. We then store them with your contact details so the adviser who calls you already knows what you told the website. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing info@c-line.co.za.

We never include your answers, or the areas we showed you, in any analytics event. Full detail of what is asked, who sees it and how long we keep it is in our POPIA Privacy Notice.

4. How We Receive Your Information

We receive personal information directly from you when you complete forms on our website, contact us by phone, email, or WhatsApp, or engage with our services. We may also receive information from medical aid schemes, insurance providers, and other financial service providers in the course of providing our services.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to provide the financial services you request, communicate with you regarding your enquiries, process medical aid applications and claims, provide insurance quotes and policy administration, comply with regulatory requirements (FAIS, POPIA, FICA), and improve our website and services.

6. Third-Party Sharing

We may share your personal information with medical aid schemes and insurance providers (to process your applications), regulatory authorities (as required by law), our IT service providers (for website hosting and email), and analytics providers (in aggregated, anonymised form). We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

When you ask us to channel your medical aid through MediWize, we pass the contact details you provide (name, email address, cell number, and medical aid scheme) to our secure e-signature provider, QuicklySign, to pre-fill your application form. We never pass your SA ID number or other special personal information this way.

7. Your Rights Under POPIA

You have the right to request access to your personal information, request correction or deletion of your personal information, object to the processing of your personal information, withdraw previously given consent, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator. 8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Financial records are retained for a minimum of 5 years as required by FAIS regulations.
